The season-ending series was at last upon us, and the Thespians hoped to close out Nettleton Stadium in style.
Game 58 Maddux vs Baez
The Thespians are looking at Dannys Baez to be their closer next year. His final start definitely did not bode well for his being in the rotation. 6 runs in 3 2/3 IP, ended his day, and despite a three-run bomb from Vance Wilson, the Thespians never challenged past the fourth. Robby Alomar hit home runs in both the third and the fourth innings, and Orlando Merceds 2-run triple in the 8th ended any real hope of the Actors making a comeback.

Game 60 Hendrickson vs Millwood
The decision to push Millwood back was two-fold. One, it seemed more fair that both division contenders have to face the Thespians best pitcher. Two, having the ace close out a ballpark seemed the best way to get a win. It was certainly a tumultuous season for Millwood. 3 horrid early starts, a 28 inning scoreless streak in the middle of the season, 2 injuries, and a suspension all made Millys season one to remember.
However, the bats remained silent in the final game at the Net. Chico managed just 6 hits off of 4 Hollywood pitchers, and RBI singles by Ruben Mateo and Shane Spencer led the Hitmen to a 2-1 victory. Hollywood moves on to the playoffs, where Chico goes into the offseason with their second consecutive last place finish, second season in a row with less then 20 wins, and a 2-13 record over the last quarter of the season.
