First of all, a big thanks to Jean-Guy for doing his best Ed impersonation.
Game 1
The Suede scored first as Jim Thome made a two out error. But the Mafia went to work on Jason Marquis, scoring in each of the first three frames and chasing Marquis. Meanwhile, Mike Mussina settled in, going the distance and allowing no more runs. Final, Mafia 6 Suede 1

Game 2
The injury bug bit both clubs on this game. The Suede again scored first, this time on a two run, two out double by the venerable Mark Grace. With two outs in the 2nd, Kevin Brown felt something pop. He was DLed after the game. Garrett Stephenson replaced him, and the Mafia smacked him around. Adam Dunn hit a three run homer, and Memphis led 3-2. The Suede tied it in the 5th, only to have Memphis retake the lead 4-3 in the bottom of 5th on a Jeff Kent single. After Kent's hit, he stole second base, but was injured in the collision. The Mafia went to the bullpen for the first time in the series in the top of the 7th, following a leadoff single to Brian Jordan. Keith Foulke allowed a stolen base, a run scoring single, and a walk and was lifted for Ramiro Mendoza. Mendoza promptly gave up another run scoring hit, this time to Carlos Baerga and the Suede had the lead back. One out later, the bases were loaded for Frank Menechino, grounded into the inning ending 463 double play. Leading 5-4, Carolina went to Jeff Nelson. He gave up a leadoff walk, but got two harmless flies to center, and appeared to be in good shape. He then walked Todd Pratt and Dunn to lad the bases for Edgardo Alfonzo. Alfonzo laced one right back past Nelson into center field plating two and giving the Family the lead back. They added an insurance run in a suicide squeeze by Rivera in the bottom of the 8th. Meanwhile, Robb Nen was perfect over the last two innings to notch the save. Final Mafia 7, Suede 5

Game 3
The Mafia hoped to get out the brooms, duplicating the feat of the second place Cajuns earlier in the week. Once again, the Suede scored in the first with the help of a leadoff walk. Ron Villone, Memphis spot starter then settled in and only gave up one more hit over the next four innings. Jason Bere was able to get out of trouble in the first three innings, but gave up a bases loaded double over the head of JD Drew to Adam Dunn in the 4th. It stayed 3-1, when the Mafia turned it over to the pen. Keith Foulke pitched a scoreless 6th. Roy Oswalt came in the 7th, and left two guys on base over the next two frames. Memphis blew it open with a 4 run 8th. Oswalt stayed in to get his first save of the year. Final, Mafia 7, Suede 1
