game 1 Ishii v. Livan Hernandez
After much debate and controversy Brawler Manager Bucky Lefkowitz declared his intent to throw Ishii as long as possible.  In this case it meant 5 innings with Da Brawlers only down 4-1.  A 3 run Brawler 6th chased Livan from the game and a 4-4 tie in the 6th.  Da Bronx then faced its 4th straight extra inning game as both Pens pitched brilliantly until the lucky 13th.

Mariano Rivera, in his 3rd inning of work gave up a leadoff double to Rich Aurilia, who then advanced to 3rd on a Aaron Boone ground out.  However, the defense held Rich to 3rd and Da Brawlers escaped. 

Jose Mesa then faced the worst luck possible as Tom Wilson led off with a double, followed by an infield single by Jeremy Giambi which was compounded by a Aurilia throwing error which allowed Wilson to score resulting in a 5-4 Brawler win on 8 scoreless Deathpen innings.
