Game 1, Game Day 21

Jailbirds secondbaseman Jr. Spivey took the games first pitch from Akita starter Derek Lowe downtown for an early lead with Jim Edmonds following in the #2 spot with a double to center. Edmonds then scored on Carlos Delgado’s soft grounder to secondbaseman Biggio who threw to first allowing the run to score.

The Akitas answered with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning with Biggio’s lead off single, a single by Abreu and a 2 run rbi double by Eric Chavez.

Jailbirds starter Elmer Dessens was knocked out in the bottom of the second with 3 more Satika runs and the score was 6-2 after 3 innings of play.

Chipper Jones solo shot in the 7th made it 7-2 Satika.

The Jailbirds fought back in the 9th scoring 2 runs and then loading the bases before Paul Quantrill came on in relief, forcing a double play ball by Manny Ramirez to end the game.

Game 2, Game Day 22
Jailbirds starter Tomo Ohka came within two outs of shuting out the Big Dogs before Trot Nixon drove in Chipper Jones in the 9th for the only Akita run of the game.
Rusty Greer led off the game for Missouri with a walk and scored all the way from first on Palmiero’s double to center. Missouri never looked back as Jim Edmonds solo shot down the RF line made the score 3-0 Jailbirds in the 1st.
Juan Benitez came on in the 9th striking out two Akita batters for the save.

Game 3, Game Day 23
The Akitas scored all of their runs in the 4th inning in the series finale winning 4-1. Chipper Jones and Trot Nixon lead the attack with solo homers off starter Roa.

Akita starter Andy Ashby pitched 6 strong innings, allowing only 4 hits and striking out 7 for the win with Billy Wagner getting out of a jam in the 9th for the save.
