Game 1: Garcia v. Wells
The inaugural game of the Carolina Blue Suede starts off with great fanfare, with Carolina Blue ball gal Jenna Jameson throwing out the first pitch. The team shows some early potential, as the Suede jump to a 3-0 lead in the third. The Cows come back and even it the following inning when Wells gets into trouble early, loading the bases with nobody out. Two errors by Mark Ellis give the Suede a 6-3 lead in the 5th, and despite an attempt to give up the game by reliever Jeff Nelson in the 9th (3 ER, .1 IP), the bullpen by committee hangs on for the win. The highlight of the game came in the 7th, when Mike Bordick Ks on the suicide squeeze but Chris Singleton is able to slip under the tag and steal home.

Ted Lilly shuts down the Carolina offense, limiting them to just two hits after the second, while Jason Marquis is able to get himself out of an ugly basese loaded jam in the third The Cows finally break open the tie when Marquis gets into trouble in the sixth, scoring two and add an insurance run in the seventh, and Jason Isringhausen cruises to his first save in the ninth. Throughout the series Bill Mueller proves to be the bane of the Suede, going 8 for 12 with 2 BB, 1 double, 2 runs and 4 RBI.
