Race Heats Up ...

As the second half of season three began, the battle for first began in the Gladys Division. At the break there were three teams tied for first. After the first series, the Hayride had taken the lead by one game over the Eagles and two games over the Tokers.

The team that might be a surprise during the second half is the Diamond Kings. Though they had resolved themselves to prepare for next year, they came out of the break with a vengence. Taking three games from the struggling Tokers brought them within seven games.

Then they took two of three against the Cows to narrow the lead to six. At this pace, they could be right back in the hunt by the season's end. This division is still up in the air. Who will end up in the lead at the season's end will be the team who's pitching will hold strong.

New Web Host

The Fat Elvis Baseball Collective recently suffered a two week struggle to remain online. The problem? The webhost. Big Picture Technologies, formerly Coollink Web Hosting, went down at the beginning of July. Continuous calls and emails were sent without reply. During the two weeks that followed, aggrevation was seen and felt everywhere in the league. Finally, Rick Queary (aka Rock Quarry) pulled the hosting from Big Pictures and signed up with InetDesign 2000. Increased space and cost reductions played vital roles in the move. The ability to keep fat-elvis.com email accounts assured the deal.
