come home
it wasn't that she needed it
a closet full of clothes
it was something new, though
it looked good on her
the price, oh, that price
way too high to buy
she put back on the shirt she wore
over the one with the price tag

when you've run your course
when you've reached your end
I'm here
My love is unending
My mercy is new every morning
the grace that I have is enough
come home

he stole a glance
pretty, sexy, interested
his marriage was in shambles
he was lonely
he missed feeling wanted
he missed being desired
tired of being just a paycheck
but it was the loneliness that drove him

we run our course
to find some peace
never realizing that it's futile
apart from Him
but His mercy is fresh
His love knows no end
He's waiting for us to come home

it didn't start this way
it was only one little toke
before she knew it
she'd graduated to lines
powder like snow
then pills and needles
now she walks dark streets
selling her body for a fix

His love never ends
He's waiting for our despair
in that, He reaches our depths
giving us hope
and unconditional love
He washes us with His blood
He's calling us home

pure white robe
tainted with a mask
hiding behind it
along with his hate
the victim is innocent
his skin's a different color
but they don't think he deserves to live
they string him up

regardless of our sins
hate, selfishness, greed, or lust
His love is still there
reaching out to us
offering mercy, grace, and hope
yes, still consequences to our sin
but we still get to go home

won't you please come home
