i remember his charisma
and his preaching
strong
the word

full of fire and a zeal
uncommon for today

he was only a year or two
older than i

cancer stinks

it destroys with
complete
impartiality

in just a matter of months
his memory will pass
the pain and anguish
of his death will ease
into time
he was so young
much too young

standing here i wonder
soon we all shall go
are we ready for the lord
to take us to his home

for there we’ll be reacquainted
in the full joy of the lord

all the friends and loved ones
who have finished
their long hard journey
before us

they have landed in his hand

a man that i admired
